Great Golf Courses

Mission

Our goal is to design and build ground-breaking golf courses that embrace the best principles of the Classical Era – namely, that the game is most rewarding and fun when players are given various strategic options for each shot.  We pride ourselves on being as intimately involved in the project, from start to finish, as anyone in the industry.

This means that we offer a range of services that are required to bring great golf courses to life, such as land identification and suitability, golf course master planning, and shaping and construction.

We only take on a small number of projects that interest us, ensuring that we are on-site constantly and can devote maximum time and energy.  Quality is more important than quantity.

About Mike

Mike Koprowski is an accomplished golf course designer and former military intelligence officer who brings a unique approach to the game.   Mike cut his teeth in the golf industry working closely with the acclaimed Kyle Franz on various high-profile projects, including Southern Pines Golf Club, Pine Needles, Raleigh Country Club, Eastward Ho!, Cabot Citrus Farms, a new build project underway in Texas, and master plan work at Charlotte Country Club.  In late 2024, he debuted the first design with his name on it -- Broomsedge in Rembert, SC, alongside Kyle Franz, which is quickly grabbing the attention of the golf world.  Currently, Mike is under construction with his second original design named Downbonnie outside of Charlotte, NC.

Mike, a scratch player himself, has studied golf architecture since he was old enough to read.  Even prior to his official career switch into the golf industry, his insanity was on full display as he built a 135-yard par 3 in his personal backyard, which was featured in Golf Digest.  A distinguished alumnus of Notre Dame, Duke, and Harvard, Mike’s deep understanding of classical architectural principles and commitment to innovation make him one of the most unique and interesting architects in today's game.

The course is a "rustic charmer, with an intimate routing filled with strategic options, its fairways fringed by sandy wastes and the wispy native grass that gives the club its name."

The Work

Broomsedge Golf Club

Rembert, SC

I'm trying not to get carried away with Broomsedge. It felt, at minimum, like a Top 100 course in the US. You could convince me on the world. It is really, really, really freaking impressive

"One of the more dynamic and unique golf courses I've seen"

Drew Harvie, Managing Partner, Golf Club Atlas

"'Broomsedge is special.' For the past several months, I've been hearing this from anyone who visited. Special is an understatement."

    LinksGems

"There is an elegance and refined character that runs through the architecture. Broomsedge eschews traditional rough and maximizes short grass playing options...as well as any course that's been built recently."

Derek Duncan, Architecture Editor, Golf Digest

"While big, bold and open, Broomsedge manages to retain an Old World intimacy. Kudos for injecting so much strategy, where angles matter and risks and rewards are beautifully balanced in such a comparatively small space. Broomsedge is a true original.
